You came.

You said You were coming and You came. How dare I not believe any of the other promises You've made to me?

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah prophesied the abovementioned scripture hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Fast forward to sometime later, Mary (the virgin Isaiah spoke about), became pregnant but not through ordinary means. This was a supernatural pregnancy. Jospeh, her fiancée, did not understand how this came about and wanted to put her away secretly to avoid shame and ridicule. God intervened by telling Joseph in a dream that Mary was carrying the promised Messiah.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Matthew 1:18; 22-23

Who was the prophet Matthew was referring to? Isaiah. God not only confirmed His word hundreds of years later, but His Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us (see Matthew 2:1, John 1:1). Hallelujah! You oughta shout right there!

God is still in the business of fulfilling promises. He said He was coming, and He came. Jesus was proof of that. He's the expressed image of God (Hebrews 1:3). He is the visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). He is no different today than He was in the days of Isaiah, Abraham, Hannah, and so on.

So, let's thank God that He is faithful to fulfill every promise He's made to us!

He said He was coming, and He came.
